Construct is the Claude Duet alternative for small teams. It gives you a shared workspace where several agents, each with its own job, run on schedules in a browser you can watch, from $9 a month. There is no waitlist and no country restriction. Claude Duet is one agent for one person. Anthropic opened it on October 21, 2026 as a waitlisted research preview for US Claude Pro and Max subscribers, and Team and Enterprise plans are not included yet.

For founders and small teams, Construct is the better choice. You can sign up today from anywhere, give each agent a role, and let the whole team see what they produce. If you are already on the Duet waitlist, keep your place and give Construct the recurring work your team needs done this week.

Why choose Construct over Claude Duet?

  • You can start today from anywhere. Duet is a US-only preview behind a waitlist. Construct has no waitlist and no country restriction, so you can sign up from India, the UK or anywhere else.
  • You get several agents. Each one has a role and a lead agent it reports to, and only reaches the apps its job needs. Lite includes 2 agents, Starter 5 and Pro 15, where Duet gives you one Claude in one thread.
  • Your team shares one workspace. Invite teammates as Owners, Admins or Members with no member limit, and everyone opens the same files, schedules and memory. Duet belongs to a single subscriber.
  • You can watch the browser and take over. Anthropic says Duet "can't yet show you its browser." In Construct you open the live browser while an agent works and take control whenever it heads the wrong way.
  • You are not capped by one subscription. Duet shares your Claude plan's limits with chat and Claude Code, and its background checks count against them. Construct runs on bundled models, and on Pro you can bring your own keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Amazon Bedrock or xAI, either as a fallback when bundled usage runs out or for every run. Duet runs only on Claude Opus 5.5.
  • Your agents can build tools for your team. Construct builds small private apps inside the workspace, like a review queue or a lead tracker, and connects to your own systems through custom MCP servers.
  • Your team reaches it where it already talks: the web, Slack, Telegram, Discord and an agent email address. Duet lives in its own app and on claude.ai.

What is Claude Duet?

Anthropic describes Claude Duet as "a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent." It runs on "a virtual machine with its own browser," sends a short brief each morning, and checks your connected accounts every few hours. Before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything, it shows you the action and waits for your approval. It comes as iOS and Android apps and on claude.ai. (Anthropic)

Anthropic built it for "professionals and small business owners with more on their plates than they can track." Construct sells to the same people, but Duet is designed around one person and Construct around a team.

Is Claude Duet out? Release date, waitlist and invites

Claude Duet was released on October 21, 2026, but only as a research preview. US Pro and Max subscribers join a waitlist and get in when Anthropic admits them. Anthropic has not said when the waitlist ends or when Duet opens to everyone. Construct has no waitlist, so you can sign up and give an agent its first job today.

Can Claude Duet work for a team?

Not yet. Anthropic's help center lists Team and Enterprise plans as not included and says support will come later. (Claude Help Center) Each Duet belongs to one subscriber, so a colleague cannot open its work or steer it. A Construct team workspace holds your people, your agents, their files and their schedules in one place.

Can I use Claude Duet in India or outside the US?

Not yet. The preview is open only to US Pro and Max subscribers, and Anthropic has not published dates for India or any other country. Construct is available outside the US today, so you can run agents that work while you are away without waiting for a US rollout.

Methodology

We build Construct. This is our editorial comparison of documented capabilities and published prices. Duet facts come from Anthropic's announcement and help center, checked on October 22, 2026, the day after launch. We have not used Duet ourselves, because the preview is waitlisted and US only, so this is not a hands-on review. Construct plan details come from our pricing page on the same date.

How much does Claude Duet cost compared with Construct?

Duet has no separate price. During the preview it comes with Claude Pro or Max and draws on the same usage limits as the rest of Claude, background checks included, so the checks that make Duet proactive use up the allowance you also spend on chat and Claude Code. Construct is priced per plan, and the whole team workspace runs on one plan with no seat fees.

How much does Claude Duet cost compared with Construct, sortable by column
Construct Lite$9Up to 2 agents, 50 steps per task, 3 scheduled tasks, agent email address
Construct Starter$596x Lite usage, up to 5 agents, 150 steps per task, 10 scheduled tasks
Construct Pro$29932x Lite usage, up to 15 agents, up to 1,000 steps per task, 50 scheduled tasks, your own keys
Claude Pro with Duet$20One Duet, if you are in the US and off the waitlist
Claude Max with DuetFrom $100One Duet with more usage, same access limits

Is Claude Duet free?

No. You need a paid Claude Pro or Max plan, and Duet's background work counts against that plan's limits. Construct Lite costs $9 a month and needs no other subscription.

What this means for your budget:

  • Starting from zero, Construct Lite costs $11 a month less than Claude Pro, and you can use it today.
  • For a team of three or more, one Construct plan covers the whole workspace. With Claude, each person who wants a Duet needs their own Pro or Max plan, and nobody can see anyone else's.
  • If you already pay for Claude, keep it and add Construct for $9 to run your team's shared work.

Then $299/month unless you cancel.

Where does Construct give you more control?

Duet and Construct both give an agent a cloud computer. With Construct you also decide who does each job, who sees the result, which model runs it, and when it runs.

Split the work across agents

When one assistant handles your inbox, your research and your reports, every job ends up in the same thread. In Construct each agent has a role and a lead agent it reports to, and agents can hand work to each other. A research agent can hand its findings to a reporting agent, and because each agent only gets the apps its job needs, the agent that reads your inbox never touches your CRM.

Give your team one place to look

Reports, spreadsheets and scripts land in the workspace files as agents produce them. Anyone with access can open Wednesday's output on Friday without asking who ran it. Duet's finished work lands in one person's app.

See the work as it happens

When an agent fills in a form or checks a dashboard, you can watch the live browser and take control at any point. Activity records each action with a short reason, so you can trace a run afterwards.

Pick the model, including Claude

Construct runs on bundled models by default. On Pro you can bring your own Anthropic key and run Claude, or switch to OpenAI, OpenRouter, Amazon Bedrock or xAI without moving a file, so your work does not depend on one AI lab's roadmap.

Keep working when a limit runs out

With Duet, a busy week of background checks and a long Claude Code session draw on the same allowance, and when it is gone you wait for the reset. On Construct Pro you can set your own keys to take over automatically once bundled usage runs out, or use them for every run. Your keys bill you directly, and the scheduled report still goes out on Friday.

Build small apps for repeated work

A report in a chat thread works until several people need to review it. Construct can build a private app inside the workspace for that job, like a review queue with an owner and a status for each item. The source stays in Files, and a failed edit leaves the last working build in place. When the data lives in your own system, connect it as a custom MCP server and the agents read it alongside everything else.

Keep the work when a run stops

Construct saves files to the workspace as an agent produces them, so a run that stops at step 30 still leaves steps 1 to 29 behind, and next week's run starts from last week's output.

Decide when it checks in

Duet chooses when to check your accounts. In Construct you put the work on the Calendar: a morning brief at 8am, a client site check every afternoon, a report every Friday. Scheduled work runs whether or not anyone is online.

A practical example: the morning brief for a whole team

Duet's headline feature is a morning brief for one person. Here is the same idea for a five-person agency. It is an illustrative workflow, not a customer case study.

Create three agents. The inbox agent reads the shared inbox and drafts replies. The site agent opens each client site in the live browser and notes what changed. The brief agent is the lead the other two report to. It reads the other two agents' output from the workspace files, and posts one summary to the team's Slack channel at 8am. Run it once by hand, check the result in Files, then save it as a workflow on the Calendar. You can start on Lite with two agents and move to Starter when you add the third.

How does Claude Duet compare with Muse, Dots and Cowork?

People searching for Duet are also comparing it with Meta Muse, ChatGPT Dots and Anthropic's own Claude Cowork. We have compared Construct with each of them: Construct vs Muse, Construct vs ChatGPT Dots and Construct vs Claude Cowork. If you are choosing among always-on agents, Construct is the one you can use with a team, from any country, without paying for another AI subscription first.

On the Duet waitlist? Start Construct in 15 minutes

You do not have to give up your place. Start with the one recurring job your team needs most.

  • Start on Lite for $9, or take the 7-day Pro trial to test more agents and your own model keys.
  • Write down what you wanted Duet to watch and give it to your first agent as its instructions.
  • Connect the apps the job needs from the integration catalog.
  • Run it once and check the result in Files.
  • Put it on the Calendar so it runs every day with your laptop closed.

Construct's workflows run in a straight line and do not pause for approval yet. For anything that goes to a customer or moves money, ask the agent for a draft and send it yourself once you have checked it.

When might Claude Duet still fit?

  • You work alone, live in the US, and already pay for Claude Max.
  • You want an agent that stops and asks before every send, payment or signature.
  • You want your agent to buy things through Stripe Link or Shop Pay.

For a team that needs shared work, several agents, a browser it can watch, and access from any country today, Construct is the better fit.

Which should you choose?

Choose Construct. It is open today with no waitlist and no country limit, starts at $9 instead of $20, puts several agents in one workspace your team shares, and runs on the model you pick, including Claude, without tying your work to one subscription's limits. If you get a Duet invite, use it for your personal errands and let Construct run the work your team depends on.

Give your first agent the morning brief your team keeps meaning to write. Start on Lite at $9, or try Pro free for seven days.
