Muse for Small Business alternatives: 9 AI agents for work

Construct gives a small business an AI employee with its own workspace, files, Calendar, and email address for $9 a month, working across the apps you already use. Meta's Muse for Small Business is free to start, with paid Muse plans at $20 and $100 a month metered in weekly tokens, but it lives in your Meta account and Meta's apps and is available only in the US and Canada.
For founders and small teams whose work crosses an inbox, a CRM, a store, and shared files, Construct is the better choice. You get a fixed monthly price with published plan limits, finished work saved in files your team can open, memory you can read and correct, and scheduled jobs that run with your laptop closed. Below, we rank it against eight other alternatives, with prices checked October 1, 2026. This page is about Meta's Muse agent, not other products that share the Muse name.
Why choose Construct over Muse for Small Business?
- A fixed monthly price with published plan limits. Lite is $9 a month for 2 agents, 50 steps per task, 3 scheduled tasks, and an agent email address, with no per-message billing. Muse's paid plans are metered in tokens per week.
- Work that lives in your workspace. Reports, trackers, and spreadsheets land in workspace files as the agent produces them, so a run that stops at step 30 still leaves steps 1 to 29 behind.
- Your whole stack, not one platform. Construct reaches Gmail, Notion, Linear, GitHub, HubSpot, Airtable, and more through a live integration catalog, and you can add custom MCP tools when a connector does not exist.
- Memory you can inspect. See what the agent has learned about your business, correct a stale fact, or tell it to forget something.
- One workspace for the team, no seats. Invite teammates as Owner, Admin, or Member. A team workspace has no member limit, and usage draws on the owner's plan.
- It answers where your team works. Web, Slack, Telegram, Discord, and its own email inbox.
What is Meta's Muse for Small Business?
Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, announced September 8, 2026. It runs on a dedicated virtual machine Meta calls Muse Secure VM, a separate agent called Sentinel checks what leaves that machine, and Muse asks for approval before it sends email or makes a purchase. It works in the iOS and Android apps, on the web, and inside WhatsApp.
On September 29, Meta launched Muse for Small Business, which connects the same agent to Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe, and Zoom, plus Facebook and Instagram business accounts and custom connectors. Fox Business adds Meta ad accounts and describes jobs such as drafting ad campaigns and writing a week of posts. CNBC Africa cites 200 million small businesses on Facebook as the audience.
Price: Meta says Muse is free for most uses, with subscription plans for more. The business version uses the same pricing as the consumer app: free with a usage limit, then Power at $20 a month or Maximum at $100, metered in tokens per week. DataCamp reports that Muse asks for a payment card even on the free tier.
Why do small businesses look for a Muse alternative?
- Trusting Meta with business data. Meta says Muse does not share conversations or VM data with its ad systems, that users can opt out of model training, and that a Confidential VM encrypted with a key only you hold is coming. Ebrahim Bagheri of the University of Toronto told Global News that "the more you want accomplish with agents, the more you have to give away your access to your data." That applies to every agent, ours included; the question is which company holds the access.
- Staying inside Meta's apps. TechCrunch's analysis of app data found that "over 95% of Muse's users are also Facebook users." That is convenient if your business runs on Meta and limiting if your team works in Slack, a CRM, or email.
- Availability. Muse for Small Business is US and Canada only, and Meta's subscription help page says Muse subscriptions "are in limited testing and aren't available in all locations yet."
- Budgeting a busy month. Weekly token metering is hard to translate into jobs done.
- Websites that block agents. On September 21, Amazon blocked Muse from buying on Amazon.com, TechCrunch reported. Any agent that clicks through websites can be refused by a site, Construct included, so use a connected app or API where one exists; Construct's integration catalog and custom MCP tools give you that route.
Methodology
We build Construct, so it leads this list. Here is why it fits small teams: it sells plans at a fixed monthly price from $9 with published limits, works across the apps a business already uses rather than one platform, and keeps finished work in a workspace the whole team can open. This is our editorial comparison of documented capabilities and published prices, checked on October 1, 2026. It is not a hands-on performance benchmark.
We picked agents a small business can start without a sales call, that do work across apps rather than only chat, and that people compare with Muse. Prices are in US dollars at monthly billing unless we say otherwise. Where a vendor page would not load for us, we used reputable coverage and say so. Where sources disagree, we report both figures. Where a capability is not documented in the sources we checked, we say that rather than assume it is missing.

The 9 best Muse for Small Business alternatives, ranked
1. Construct
Best for: founders and small teams whose work crosses several apps and repeats every week.
Construct is an AI employee that works from a persistent cloud workspace. Each agent has files, live browser runs, a sandbox terminal, its own email address, and a Calendar of scheduled jobs. Calendar schedules run on Construct's servers, so the Monday report runs whether or not your laptop is open. It connects to Gmail, Notion, Linear, GitHub, HubSpot, Airtable, and more through a live integration catalog, and you can add a custom MCP tool when a connector does not exist. You can hand it work from the web, Slack (@mentions and DMs), Telegram, Discord, or by emailing its own address.
Where it differs from Muse is where the work lives and who can use it:
- Files, not chat history. Finished work lands in the workspace as it is produced. A run that fails at step 30 keeps steps 1 to 29, and the next run starts from what exists.
- Memory you can correct. If a client changes its reporting format, you fix the stored fact once and every later job uses it. The memory guide shows how.
- Processes the whole team can rerun. A job that works becomes a workflow with agent steps, connected apps, and notifications. Version it, schedule it, and anyone on the team can run it again.
- Your own internal tools. For a repeated process, Construct can build a private workspace app such as an order review queue, as our internal tools guide explains.
- Your choice of model. Pro lets you bring keys for OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock, or xAI.
Silent product demo: Construct building and running a reusable workflow with agent steps, connected apps, and notifications that anyone on the team can run again.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: Lite is $9 a month for 2 agents, 50 steps per task, 3 scheduled tasks, and an agent email address. Starter is $59 with 6x Lite's usage, up to 5 agents, 150 steps per task, and 10 scheduled tasks. Pro is $299 with 32x Lite's usage, up to 15 agents, up to 1,000 steps per task, 50 scheduled tasks, and your own model keys. Pro has a 7-day free trial. See Construct pricing.
Setup note for Meta-heavy businesses: Construct does not have Meta's first-party access to ad accounts and Instagram analytics, so for ad spend, export the numbers from Ads Manager and drop the file in the workspace.

2. OpenAI Dots
Best for: people who already pay for ChatGPT Pro.
OpenAI unveiled Dots on September 29, 2026. CBS News reports they run on GPT-6 Astra, work inside ChatGPT with Slack and Teams channels, and handle jobs like scheduling meetings, budgeting, and travel. BenchLM, summarizing OpenAI's documentation, says each Dot has its own cloud computer and browser.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: your first Dot is included with ChatGPT Pro, which starts at $100 a month, or a Business Premium seat. Sources disagree on that seat: CBS lists $20 a month, while BenchLM lists $125 per seat monthly or $100 billed annually. OpenAI's own pages did not load for us.
Watch for: the highest entry price on this list. BenchLM reports that Pro users in the EEA, Switzerland, and the UK were excluded at launch and that the price of additional Dots is unpublished. Our Construct vs ChatGPT Dots comparison covers the head-to-head.
3. Claude Cowork
Best for: one person's research, writing, and file work.
Cowork lets you hand Claude an outcome and come back to finished work. Its getting started guide says tasks can run remotely in the cloud (in beta), scheduled tasks do not need your computer awake, and each connector can be set to always allow, needs approval, or blocked.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: included with Claude Pro at $20 a month, or $17 a month billed annually (Claude pricing). Max starts at $100. Team seats are $25 a month, or $125 for a Premium seat. The pricing page now says "Claude Cowork is now just Claude."
Watch for: it is not on the free plan, heavy multi-step jobs use plan limits faster, and a team needs Team seats.
4. Gemini Spark
Best for: a solo owner who runs the business from a personal Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
Google's help page describes Spark as an agent that runs scheduled tasks, browses in your own Chrome or a remote browser, works across Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive, Sheets, and other Google apps, and asks before sending messages, changing data, making purchases, or signing into websites.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: included with Google AI Pro or Ultra. Chrome Unboxed reported in July that Spark came to the $20 Pro tier in the US after starting on Ultra. Google's plan pages showed us regional prices only.
Watch for: Google says Spark "isn't available if you sign in with a work or school Google Account," which rules out businesses on Google Workspace for now. It is also unavailable in the EEA, Nigeria, Switzerland, and the UK.
5. Viktor
Best for: a Slack or Teams workspace that wants the agent to build small tools.
Viktor lives in Slack and Microsoft Teams and writes and runs code on its own cloud computer. Its homepage lists more than 3,200 integrations, including Stripe and HubSpot, says it asks for confirmation before high-stakes actions such as sending emails, and says it is SOC 2 Type 1 compliant.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: $100 in free credits with no card, then the first Team plan is $50 a month for 20,000 credits, priced per workspace rather than per seat (Viktor pricing). Unused plan credits roll over for one month.
Watch for: credit use varies with the job, and it only works inside Slack or Teams.
6. Lindy
Best for: teams whose work already happens in Slack.
Lindy is a Slack-based teammate. Its pricing page lists scheduled routines, meeting notes, inbox management, computer use, and integrations on every plan, with a credit pool shared across the team.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: Plus is $29.99 per user a month with 3,000 credits, Pro is $99.99 with 15,000, and Max is $199.99 with 35,000. Enterprise adds HIPAA compliance and audit logs. There is a 7-day trial.
Watch for: per-user billing, so cost grows with headcount, and unused credits do not roll over. Our roundup of AI employee platforms covers Lindy's seat rules.
7. Grok Bot
Best for: people who already pay for Cursor.
Grok Bot's Bots share one persistent cloud computer. Its computer and apps documentation says all Bots on an account share the same browser, files, and signed-in accounts, with a separate screen for each Bot, and that it prefers Marketplace connectors over clicking through websites.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: included with Cursor Individual at $20 a month and Cursor Teams at $40 per user. The Grok Bot product page did not load for us.
Watch for: Bots share one computer and one set of sign-ins, so they are not separate security boundaries. Our Grok Bot comparison goes deeper.
8. Sintra
Best for: a solo owner who wants role-based help with social media, copy, email, and support.
Sintra sells 12 role-based AI helpers, such as Soshie for social media and Cassie for customer support, sharing one memory it calls Brain AI. Its homepage lists connections with Facebook, Instagram, Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, Google Drive, Notion, and more, on the web and in iOS and Android apps.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: the Sintra X bundle lists at $97 a month and was on sale at $48.50 for a one-month term when we checked, with 250 credits a month and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Single helpers are $39 a month each (Sintra pricing).
Watch for: sale prices change, and work that crosses roles or needs a custom process is a weaker fit.
9. Marblism
Best for: a local business that needs calls answered.
Marblism's seven AI employees include Rachel, a receptionist who answers calls around the clock and books appointments, Sonny for social posts, and Eva for email and calendar. It is the only option on this list that answers your phone.
Price, checked October 1, 2026: $44 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, for all seven employees, 50 hours of work a month, and unlimited team members (Marblism pricing).
Watch for: work is metered in hours, and each task type uses a set amount. Work outside the seven roles fits a general agent better.
A worked example: the Monday sales and ads summary in Construct
This is an illustrative workflow, not a customer case study or a measured test.
A two-person online store wants a Monday summary: last week's orders and refunds, which products sold, what the Instagram ads spent, and three things to do this week.
- Save the format. Put the report template and last week's report in the workspace.
- Connect the inputs. Connect the apps the job needs from the integration catalog, or upload an order export if a connector is not available. Drop in the Ads Manager export for ad spend.
- Ask for the report. "Compare this week's orders, refunds, and ad spend with last week's report. List the top five products, flag anything that moved more than 20 percent, suggest three actions, and save a dated file with the source of every figure."
- Check it and schedule it. After a few good runs, save the steps as a workflow and put it on the Calendar. Lite's 3 scheduled tasks cover it, and Starter adds more when you add jobs.
The report history stays in Files, so each week starts from the last one, and your teammate can open the same file. On Muse, the same job runs inside your Meta account, with direct access to Meta ad data.
Judge the result by whether the numbers match your store, whether each figure is traceable, and how many minutes of editing it takes.
Already using Muse? Add Construct in 15 minutes
You can keep Muse for Instagram and Facebook work and give Construct the jobs that cross the rest of your stack.
- Start on Lite for $9, or take the 7-day Pro trial to test longer runs.
- Copy the instructions you give Muse into a Construct chat, and move the source files into the workspace.
- Connect the apps the job needs from the integration catalog.
- Run it once and check the result in Files.
- Put it on the Calendar so it runs every week whether or not anyone is online.
There is no import from Muse, so write your rules into the first instruction and Construct saves them as memory you can read. One thing to set up deliberately: Construct's workflows do not pause for approval yet, so for customer emails, posts, or payments, ask for drafts and send them yourself once you have checked them.
When might Muse still fit?
- Most of your selling and advertising happens on Instagram and Facebook, and you want the agent reading Meta ad accounts directly.
- You are in the US or Canada and want to start for nothing.
- You want the agent inside WhatsApp and Meta's apps.
For recurring work across your inbox, CRM, store, and shared files, on one plan your team shares, Construct is the better fit.
Which Muse alternative should you choose?
Choose Construct. It starts at $9 a month, works across the apps your business already uses, keeps every finished file in a workspace your team can open, and runs scheduled jobs with your laptop closed.
- If you want recurring jobs across several apps, with files, schedules, and memory in one place, choose Construct, starting at $9.
- If more than one person needs the agent, choose Construct. A team workspace has no member limit and no per-seat fee.
- If you want a fixed monthly price with published plan limits, choose Construct: each plan lists its agents, steps per task, and scheduled tasks.
- If your team works in Slack, Construct answers @mentions and DMs there; compare it with Lindy (per user) and Viktor (per workspace) on what five people would cost.
- If you already pay for ChatGPT Pro, Claude, or Cursor, keep that plan for personal tasks and add Construct for the business's recurring work.
- If you need the phone answered, Marblism is the only option here that does it.
- If you are outside the US and Canada, Muse for Small Business is not available yet, and Gemini Spark and Dots on Pro exclude several European markets. Check availability at sign-up.
Pick the report, follow-up, or tracker that keeps sliding into your evening. Give Construct the inputs, describe what a finished result looks like, and check what it saves to the workspace. Start on Lite at $9, or try Pro free for seven days.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Construct a good Muse for Small Business alternative?
- Yes, for founders and small teams whose work crosses several apps. Construct starts at $9 a month, connects to tools such as Gmail, Notion, HubSpot, and Airtable through its integration catalog, saves finished work to workspace files your team can open, lets you inspect and correct its memory, and runs scheduled jobs with your laptop closed.
- How much does Meta's Muse for Small Business cost?
- Muse for Small Business uses the same pricing as the Muse app: free with a usage limit, then the Power plan at $20 a month or the Maximum plan at $100 a month. Paid plans are metered in Muse tokens per week, and DataCamp reports that Muse asks for a payment card even on the free tier.
- Can I use Construct alongside Muse?
- Yes. Keep Muse for Instagram and Facebook work and give Construct the jobs that cross the rest of your stack. Start on Lite for $9 or the 7-day Pro trial, copy your instructions into Construct, move the files, connect the apps, run the job once, and put it on the Calendar. There is no import from Muse.
- Does Construct connect to Meta ad accounts like Muse does?
- Construct does not have Meta's first-party access to ad accounts and Instagram analytics. For ad spend, export the numbers from Ads Manager and drop the file in the workspace, and Construct includes them in the report alongside your other connected apps.
- Will switching away from Muse stop websites from blocking my AI agent?
- No. Amazon blocked Muse from Amazon.com, and any agent that clicks through websites can be refused by a site, Construct included. Using a connected app or API where one exists reduces that risk, and Construct's integration catalog and custom MCP tools give you that route.
- When does Muse for Small Business still make sense?
- When most of your selling and advertising happens on Instagram and Facebook and you want the agent reading Meta ad accounts directly, when you are in the US or Canada and want to start for nothing, or when you want the agent inside WhatsApp and Meta's apps. For recurring work across your inbox, CRM, store, and shared files, Construct is the better fit.
